Google is set to unveil the next generation of Pixel phones, including the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, as well as the Watch 5, on August 12. The company has been posting teaser videos, which suggest that the design of the phones may not change significantly, but new features are expected.
One new feature is the Pixel Glow, an RGB LED on the camera visor on the back of the phone, which may also be called HiLight. The Pixel 11 series is expected to come with higher prices, with the company confirming that price fluctuations may affect existing models like the Pixel 10a.
Pixel 11 Series Specifications
The vanilla Google Pixel 11 will feature the new Pixel Glow notification LED, a telephoto camera with up to 30x digital zoom, and support for the new Gemini Intelligence, which is more advanced than the current Gemini AI. The phone will come in four color options: Fuchsia, Light Sterling, Moss, and Midnight Haze.
The Google Pixel 11 Pro will have up to 120x digital zoom, with a higher resolution sensor behind the 5x lens, likely 48MP. The base RAM capacity for the Pixel 11 Pro will be 12GB, with the option to upgrade to 16GB with the 512GB storage model. The Pro model will come in four color options: Dune, Light Fog, Midnight Haze, and Pine.
The Google Pixel 11 Pro XL will have a larger battery with a 5,115mAh capacity, compared to 4,850mAh for the small Pro, and a 6.8” display. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will feature an 8” inner display, with a rumored 4,800mAh capacity, which is a noticeable downgrade from the previous model.
Google Pixel Watch 5
The Google Pixel Watch 5 will be available in several configurations, with users having a choice between 41mm and 45mm versions, with and without LTE. The watch will use the same Snapdragon Wear W5 Gen 2 chipset as the Watch 4 and have the same screen. The batteries will get minor bumps to their capacities, and the watch will remain 12.3mm thick.
The Pixel Watch 5 will have Gemini Intelligence on board, with an option to call for help if the watch stops detecting a pulse, and improved sleep tracking accuracy. The watch will be available in several color options, including Matte Black, Polished Silver, Satin Pyrite, and Champagne Gold.
Google Pixel Tag
Google is also expected to unveil the Pixel Tag, a smart tag that uses UWB for precise distance and direction tracking, similar to the Apple AirTag. The Pixel Tag is expected to cost €35 in Europe.
The prices of the Pixel Watch 5 will be going up, with the comparable models in the US being $50 more than the Watch 4 pricing, and €20 more in Europe. The company will be covering the Google Pixel unveiling next week, with all the official details on the new phone, watch, and tag expected to be revealed.
