Games Workshop is set to bring its hidden duardin faction, the Khazalite Holds, out of the mountains and onto the tabletop next week. The launch will introduce a comprehensive suite of new miniatures, rules, accessories and related publications for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, giving players a full complement of models and lore to field the faction.
New Miniatures and Units
The centerpiece of the range is High Kyng Valankrom, a duardin crowned by Grungni himself. Valankrom wields the hammer Bharadreng and rides a War Throne, and the kit can also be built as a regular Thrynn on a War Throne. Thrynn, described as lords of the karaks, are heavily armed and armored leaders who inspire duardin clans to settle grudges.
Runewrights add a magical element, channeling deep‑earth power into runes and striking them with forgehammers to boost their potency. Valayan Guardians, among the finest karak warriors, can be equipped with either runic halberds or rune axes and shields, and the kit includes parts for an optional champion. They can also invoke the We Honour Valaya Ancestral Vow for extra resilience.
Clangunners bring heavy firepower, with options for the longer‑range Thrundok rifle or the Thrundrin shotcannon. Each model offers two head choices and the set includes optional champion, standard bearer and drummer figures, the latter with a choice of two drums. Ormyr, a nomadic Fyreslayer, appears alongside his rescued Kyndledroth companion Ashtongue, delivering the fiery vengeance of the Grimmdron.
Hjulda Drakkblud, the last of her clan, fights to reclaim fallen karaks wielding the two‑handed axe Azangrom. Core infantry are represented by Clanshields, a versatile kit designed for holding objectives and avenging kin. The Oathkeeper Cannon provides long‑range fire against monsters or large targets and can alternatively be built as a Stonebreaker Mortar.
Gholems of Gazul are living statues modeled after the Keeper of the Gate, armed with massive hammers; an alternative version, Gholems of Valaya, carries huge axes and shields, embodying hearth defenders. The Spearhead: Magmic Fyrd box set adds an Auric Runefather on Magmadroth, an Auric Runesmiter, nine Vulkyn Flameseekers and five Auric Hearthguard. The Regiment of Renown: Fjori’s Vengeance offers a Grimhold Exile, an Auric Flamekeeper and five Hearthguard Berzerkers for Order armies.
Publications and Accessories
Accompanying the miniatures is the Khazalite Holds Battletome, a comprehensive guide containing background, lore, artwork and the rules needed to play the faction. A Gamer’s Edition of the battletome is also available while stocks last; this smaller‑format book includes the same content plus 53 reference cards.
Players can further personalize their games with Khazalite Holds dice, cast in frosted green acrylic with gold markings and the faction logo on the six face. Both the Gamer’s Edition and the dice are limited‑stock items.
