Apple adds four new languages to Siri AI in iOS 27.3 beta

Apple has rolled out the first beta of iOS 27.3, a release that significantly broadens the linguistic reach of its Siri artificial‑intelligence assistant. The update adds support for four additional languages—Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese—bringing the total number of languages Siri can understand and respond in to ten.

Language expansion details

The newly supported languages are part of a rapid expansion effort that began with iOS 27.2, which introduced five more languages—French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish—just a week earlier. Prior to those releases, Siri AI was limited to English only. By integrating Chinese (traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese in iOS 27.3 beta 1, Apple completes a ten‑language suite that covers a broader range of global users.

Each language addition enables native‑speaking users to invoke Siri, issue commands, and receive contextual responses in their preferred tongue. The inclusion of Chinese (traditional) expands Siri’s reach into regions that use non‑simplified characters, while Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese open the assistant to users across Europe and Southeast Asia.

Additional Siri enhancements in iOS 27.3

Beyond language support, iOS 27.3 introduces several new capabilities for the assistant. The update adds new in‑app actions, allowing Siri to perform tasks directly within third‑party applications without requiring the user to open the app manually. A new feature called Siri Recap will provide users with a summary of recent Siri interactions, helping them keep track of commands and suggestions.

Developers also receive an expanded toolkit for integrating with Siri AI. The updated developer features give app creators deeper access to Siri’s conversational abilities, enabling more sophisticated voice‑driven experiences within their software.

Release timeline and availability

At present, iOS 27.3 is available only as a beta version, accessible to developers and early adopters who have enrolled in Apple’s testing program. Apple has indicated that the final public release will arrive next month, at which point all iPhone users will be able to upgrade and benefit from the expanded language support and new Siri functionalities.

The beta rollout follows Apple’s pattern of incremental improvements, with each iteration adding both user‑facing features and behind‑the‑scenes enhancements for developers. By delivering a broader language portfolio alongside new in‑app actions and a recap feature, Apple signals its intent to make Siri a more universally useful and context‑aware assistant.

Apple has invited feedback on Siri AI’s performance, encouraging users to share their experiences as the beta progresses. The company’s ongoing collection of user input is expected to shape refinements before the full release later this year.
