I was tired and sleeping when the auction was happening, and then I found out about it. The coach also shared a personal anecdote that underscores Gautam’s modest background: the bowler only acquired his first mobile phone two years ago, during a tournament in Aligarh where he was named best bowler.
Family support has been a cornerstone of Gautam’s journey. His father, a farmer facing the usual challenges of agricultural life, has consistently encouraged his son’s sporting dreams. Gautam acknowledges that being the youngest of four siblings may have also fostered a competitive spirit that drives his work ethic.
