When the aircraft began taxiing, airline staff spotted the boy, a resident of Afghanistan\u2019s Kunduz province, walking on the taxiway near the plane.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"842\" data-end=\"1068\">Officials immediately alerted the airport\u2019s Security Operations Control Centre, and the child was detained for questioning. Security agencies, including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), handled the case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1129\" data-end=\"1293\">Globally, people who hide inside the wheel bays of aircraft are referred to as <strong data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1235\">\u201cwheel-well stowaways.\u201d<\/strong> The practice is extremely risky due to several factors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1342\"><strong data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1322\">Freezing temperatures<\/strong> at high altitudes<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1392\"><strong data-start=\"1345\" data-end=\"1374\">Severe oxygen deprivation<\/strong> during cruising<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1456\"><strong data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1421\">Limited, cramped space<\/strong> inside landing gear compartments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1604\">Most such attempts end fatally, often due to hypothermia or asphyxiation. Survival in these conditions is considered rare and almost miraculous. During hours of interrogation at Termina-3, CISF officials said the boy admitted to sneaking into Kabul airport and climbing into the aircraft\u2019s rear central landing gear. He reportedly told interrogators he attempted the stunt purely \u201cout of curiosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1915\" data-end=\"2127\">Airport authorities also recovered a red-colored speaker believed to belong to the boy during a post-flight inspection of the Kam Air aircraft. The aircraft was later cleared after thorough security checks.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2160\" data-end=\"2400\">Following questioning, the boy was deported back to Kabul the same day. He boarded another flight at around 4 pm. Officials confirmed that he had slipped past airport security in Afghanistan before hiding inside the plane\u2019s undercarriage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2732\">While rare, aircraft stowaway incidents have been reported in several countries. Most end in tragedy, highlighting the deadly risks involved. This case, however, drew attention for the sheer improbability of a teenager surviving such extreme conditions during the Kabul-to-Delhi journey.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2758\" data-end=\"2993\">The incident underscores the vulnerabilities in airport security and the life-threatening risks of wheel-well stowaways.
