According to him, the numbers processed in India\u2019s Chennai consular district were &#8216;<strong>far<\/strong> <strong>beyond<\/strong>&#8216; what the programme allows. \u201cThere\u2019s a <strong><em>cap of 85,000 H-1B visas<\/em><\/strong>, yet somehow one district in India \u2014 <strong><em>the Chennai district \u2014 got 220,000. That\u2019s around 2.5 times the cap<\/em> <\/strong>Congress has set. So that\u2019s the scam, framing the issue as a direct threat to American workers.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1717\">Brat further argued that the programme is being misused to bring in individuals who may not meet the specialized-skills requirement. \u201c<em>When someone comes in claiming they\u2019re skilled \u2014 many aren\u2019t. In previous interviews, Siddiqui said she processed more than 50,000 non-immigrant visas between 2005 and 2007 and claimed that fabricated documents and proxy applicants were widespread.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2171\" data-end=\"2626\">According to her, 80\u201390 per cent of the <a href=\"https:\/\/newsraise.com\/index.php\/2025\/09\/24\/new-h-1b-visa-system-proposed-wage-tier-to-replace-lottery-system\/\">H-1B applications<\/a> she encountered during that period involved forged educational credentials, false job letters or applicants who did not meet the required skill level.
