The figure represents a rise from \u20b911,023\u202fcrore recorded in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year and a sequential growth of 3.2% from the prior quarter. Alongside the revenue lift, the telecom operator reported a narrower net loss of \u20b93,754\u202fcrore, compared with a loss of \u20b96,608\u202fcrore in Q1\u202fFY26.<\/p>\n<h2>Financial Highlights<\/h2>\n<p>The quarter\u2019s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at \u20b95,034\u202fcrore, marking a 9.1% increase over the year\u2011ago period. EBITDA margin improved to 43.1% from 41.8% a year earlier. Cash EBITDA was reported at \u20b92,475\u202fcrore. Depreciation and amortisation expenses for the period were \u20b95,467\u202fcrore, while net finance costs amounted to \u20b94,925\u202fcrore. When the impact of Ind AS\u202f116 is excluded, depreciation and amortisation fell to \u20b93,862\u202fcrore and net finance costs to \u20b93,701\u202fcrore respectively. Capital expenditure for the quarter was \u20b91,930\u202fcrore.<\/p>\n<h2>Subscriber Growth and Usage<\/h2>\n<p>Vi\u2019s total subscriber base reached 193.1\u202fmillion at the end of June, up slightly from 192.8\u202fmillion in the preceding quarter and reflecting the first net subscriber addition since the company\u2019s merger. The number of 4G and 5G customers rose to 130.1\u202fmillion, an increase from 127.4\u202fmillion in the same quarter a year earlier. Data consumption grew markedly, with daily usage climbing from 69.1\u202fpetabytes to 88.4\u202fpetabytes, a year\u2011on\u2011year rise of 27.9%.<\/p>\n<p>Average revenue per user (ARPU) also improved, reaching \u20b9195 in Q1\u202fFY27 versus \u20b9177 in Q1\u202fFY26, a 10.2% year\u2011on\u2011year increase that Vi described as the highest in the industry. The company attributed the ARPU boost primarily to customer upgrades.<\/p>\n<h2>Funding, Debt and Network Expansion<\/h2>\n<p>As of June\u202f30,\u202f2026, Vi\u2019s bank debt stood at \u20b9211\u202fcrore, while cash and bank balances were \u20b96,558\u202fcrore, bolstered by partial proceeds from a warrant issuance during the quarter. The firm disclosed that it has secured \u20b96,400\u202fcrore in funding, comprising warrants, fund\u2011based and non\u2011fund\u2011based facilities, and is actively engaging lenders to finalise its overall funding plan.<\/p>\n<p>Credit rating agencies have recently signalled confidence in Vi\u2019s financial trajectory. Crisil assigned an A\u2011\/(Stable) rating in May\u202f2026, and ICRA upgraded the company to A\u2011\/(Stable) in June\u202f2026, citing positive developments in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>On the network front, Vi expanded its 5G footprint to more than 200 cities across the 17 key circles where it holds 5G spectrum. The company also added over 15,600 unique broadband towers in the past twelve months, bringing the total count of unique broadband towers to nearly 205,000. 4G population coverage rose to 87.0% as of June\u202f2026, adding 39.4\u202fmillion people to the covered population since Q1\u202fFY26. Vi indicated that, under its current rollout plan, 4G coverage in the 17 circles is expected to exceed 95%.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Vi said it has placed capex orders worth \u20b99,000\u202fcrore against a three\u2011year capex guidance of \u20b945,000\u202fcrore, underscoring its commitment to expanding high\u2011speed broadband infrastructure, adding new 4G sites, and upgrading core and transmission networks.
