He trains students to locate and track asteroids, while simultaneously developing low\u2011cost educational tools such as an AI\u2011enabled biology model, a virtual biology laboratory, and \u201cTree Talk,\u201d a QR\u2011code\u2011based system that turns local flora into interactive learning resources.<\/p>\n<p>Jaipur\u2019s Government Girls Upper Primary School teacher Vartika\u202fGulati replaces rote memorisation with everyday experimentation. She illustrates algebraic concepts using groundnuts and demonstrates geometric principles with kites. Her programme, \u201cPrashno\u202fSe\u202fVigyan\u201d (Science through questions), encourages student\u2011led inquiry and has been cited as a model for inquiry\u2011based pedagogy.<\/p>\n<p>In Odisha, Padaraj\u202fNayak of Government High School, Alipingal, has guided his pupils to design and patent more than fifty prototypes, including a low\u2011cost automatic plate\u2011washing machine that earned a Government of India patent. His emphasis on hands\u2011on engineering has sparked a culture of invention among his students.<\/p>\n<p>Munmun\u202fBhattacherjee, teaching at the Government Middle School in Barmasia, Dhanbad, has overseen a dramatic turnaround in a vulnerable coal\u2011mining community. Aligning her work with the National Education Policy\u202f2020 and NIPUN\u202fBharat goals, she introduced affordable foundational literacy and numeracy tools, integrated children with special needs, conducted home\u2011visit outreach to curb dropouts, and steered learners toward state arts awards, NEET preparation and vocational independence.<\/p>\n<p>In Maharashtra, Kavita\u202fGitte, head teacher at Sane\u202fGuruji\u202fNivasi\u202fVidyalaya in Beed, has spent nearly three decades integrating children of migrant sugarcane workers into mainstream schooling through initiatives such as \u201cBalrakshak\u201d and \u201cShikshan\u202fAaplya\u202fDari.\u201d A national softball and baseball coach, she has also mentored roughly 210 students to achieve state and national accolades in those sports.<\/p>\n<p>Gujarat\u2019s Nitinkumar transformed a resource\u2011limited tribal primary school in Vansda, Navsari, into a digital\u2011learning hub. He installed a 45\u2011computer IT lab, a seven\u2011dimensional VR\/AR lab, an offline \u201cRangpur Server,\u201d and a student\u2011run journalism studio called \u201cR\u202fNEWS.\u201d His \u201cQR Code Book\u201d project and \u201cTouchable PDFs\u201d reached over 112,000 students across Gujarat during the pandemic, demonstrating the scalability of low\u2011cost digital interventions.<\/p>\n<p>Goa\u2019s Mahadev\u202fShinde, a pioneer of adaptive sports at the Gujarati Samaj Special School, coached the Indian floor\u2011hockey team to four gold medals and one bronze at the 2017 Special Olympics World Winter Games. He also served as a Bocce sports presenter at the 2023 World Games and has mentored 14 international\u2011level athletes who together secured 13 medals for India.<\/p>\n<h2>Innovation and Tradition in Higher Education<\/h2>\n<p>The university\u2011level awardees showcase a blend of cutting\u2011edge research and revival of Indian knowledge systems. Kirti\u202fChandra\u202fSahu of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad has built a unique experimental facility that replicates atmospheric conditions to study raindrop shape and size distributions at various altitudes. His work promises more precise rainfall forecasts and could enhance climate\u2011modelling efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Avlokita\u202fAgrawal of IIT\u202fRoorkee is recognised for her advocacy of Vaastu\u202fShastra, underscoring the continued relevance of traditional architectural principles in contemporary academic discourse.<\/p>\n<p>Vinay\u202fChamola at the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, earned the award for designing courses in the Internet of Things and drone technology, and for establishing a hands\u2011on IoT Tinkering Lab that translates research into project\u2011based learning. He also leads an interdisciplinary \u201cShrimad\u202fBhagavad\u202fGita\u201d course that, according to a Ministry spokesperson, has demonstrably improved student well\u2011being by integrating technical rigor with ethical and purpose\u2011driven study.<\/p>\n<p>Ankuran\u202fDutta, Head of the Department of Communications at Gauhati University, is honoured for founding Northeast India\u2019s first community and web radio stations, thereby expanding participatory communication and cultural outreach in the region.<\/p>\n<p>Shivani\u202fV., a faculty member at Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bengaluru, bridges classical Sanskrit scholarship with computational linguistics, artificial intelligence and digital humanities. Her research on a computational model of Paninian grammar has contributed to major initiatives such as Mahakosha, the National Language Translation Mission, Shastrakosha, Pythonskrit and Academic\u202fGPS, advancing the digitisation of Sanskrit knowledge.<\/p>\n<h2>National Recognition of Teaching Excellence<\/h2>\n<p>Collectively, the awardees embody the spirit of the National Teachers\u2019 Awards: a celebration of educators who blend innovation, cultural heritage and community impact.
