During this four‑day window, four popular titles become available at no cost, allowing both Game Pass subscribers and the broader Xbox community to sample the games before deciding whether to purchase them.

Games reserved for Game Pass members

The first two titles in the lineup are The Escapists 2 and Young Suns. Access to these games is limited to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members. The Escapists 2 tasks players with orchestrating prison breaks, either solo or with friends. Participants can obey the facility’s rules, improvise tools from everyday objects such as soap and socks, or resort to combat when an escape plan collapses.

Young Suns is a multiplayer narrative life‑simulation set on Jupiter after a successful uprising against exploitative corporations. The game lets players explore moonlets, repurposed space stations, and abandoned ruins using a personal spaceship. Up to four players can join a session, repairing broken equipment, customizing the vessel’s interior, forming relationships with in‑game characters, and contributing to the reconstruction of society. Xbox has optimized Young Suns for the Series X|S with Smart Delivery and Play Anywhere support, meaning the same purchase works on both console and PC.

Games open to all Xbox users

The remaining two titles, PGA TOUR 2K25 and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, are available to anyone with an Xbox console, regardless of subscription status. No Game Pass membership is required to download or play these games during the Free Play Days period.

In PGA TOUR 2K25, players can compete in Ranked Tours at the Championship at Del Cerro without charge. The weekly featured quest, called “The Captain’s Call,” awards 250 virtual currency, three fitting items, a Level‑Up Token, 600 MyPLAYER experience points, and a silver leather watch cosmetic for meeting specific performance targets: five fairways hit in regulation, five birdies in a single round, and three putts from beyond ten feet. The title also benefits from Xbox Series X|S optimization and Play Anywhere compatibility.

The Division 2 returns players to a pandemic‑scarred Washington, D.C., where they must defend and rebuild the city in a tactical, open‑world third‑person shooter. The game emphasizes cover‑based combat, careful positioning, and teamwork, and can be played solo or with friends. For the duration of the event, the Standard Edition of The Division 2 is offered at a discount of up to 90 percent, though the exact percentage may vary by region.

How to claim the free titles

To start playing, users should navigate to each game’s dedicated page on Xbox.com and select the install button. This action redirects to the Microsoft Store, where signing in with a Microsoft account is required. An eligible Game Pass membership must be linked for the two member‑only titles. Console owners have an alternative path: opening the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store, scrolling to the Free Play Days collection, and choosing the desired game. The collection appears on both Xbox One and the newer Series X|S hardware.

After the trial period ends on Sunday, September 27, players who wish to retain the games can purchase full versions at a limited‑time discount. Any Gamerscore points or achievements earned during the free window remain attached to the player’s profile after purchase. Xbox notes that discount amounts and the availability of specific titles may differ across regions, so users should verify the offer in their local store.

Why the promotion matters for gamers

The Free Play Days event provides a low‑risk opportunity for both existing subscribers and casual Xbox owners to explore titles they might not otherwise try. For Game Pass members, the inclusion of The Escapists 2 and Young Suns adds value to the subscription by delivering fresh experiences without additional cost. For non‑subscribers, the chance to play PGA TOUR 2K25 and The Division 2 for free, combined with steep discounts on full purchases, creates a compelling incentive to engage with the Xbox ecosystem.

Overall, the weekend promotion underscores Xbox’s strategy of using limited‑time free access and price reductions to drive user acquisition, retain existing players, and showcase the breadth of its game library across both legacy and next‑generation hardware.

Xbox’s Free Play Days event lets Game Pass members and all Xbox users try four titles for free from Sep 24‑27, with discounts available afterward.

[299
2416,2417,2418,2419,1772
post-2239","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-free-play-days","tag-game-pass","tag-pga-tour-2k25","tag-the-division-2","tag-xbox","entry
["GET
