The properties are linked to V. Narasimha Rao, an Assistant Manager (Technical) who presently serves as District Manager (RDO) in Mahabubabad and previously held a posting at the Khammam Collectorate. The agency has opened a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case, alleging that Rao accumulated wealth through illicit means while in public service.

Immovable assets under scrutiny

The ACB’s inventory lists a mixture of agricultural land, open plots and residential buildings. Five open plots, collectively covering 1,230.16 square yards, were identified in the villages of Ballepalli, Raghunathapalem and Velugumatla in Khammam district. The plots are registered in the names of Rao and his spouse, with a combined documented value of Rs 30.72 lakh.

In the district of Suryapet, the bureau uncovered three separate agricultural holdings. At Kalmala Chervu, an area of roughly 1.08 acres was noted. In Sirkonda, the land spans about 21.3 acres, while a third parcel at Namavaram measures approximately 5.31 acres. Official records assign a total document value of Rs 1.17 crore to these lands. However, the ACB’s preliminary statement indicates that the agreement value for the Sirkonda tract is Rs 6.54 crore, far exceeding its recorded registration value of Rs 76 lakh. Similarly, the Namavaram parcel is said to have an agreement value of Rs 1.92 crore against a document value of Rs 19.25 lakh. The bureau has not yet concluded whether any wrongdoing is attached to these transactions and has said the figures remain subject to verification.

Three residential structures also feature in the agency’s findings. A G+2 building and a G+4 building situated in Kaviraj Nagar, Khammam, together with a multi‑storey house in Sagar Enclave, Bairamalguda, LB Nagar, are owned by Rao, his wife and his father‑in‑law. The combined documented worth of these dwellings is Rs 1.58 crore. The ACB noted that market valuations for the identified immovable assets are expected to be substantially higher than the values recorded in official documents.

Movable possessions and cash seized

Beyond land and buildings, the searches uncovered a range of movable assets. A Hyundai Creta, assessed at roughly Rs 18.49 lakh, was recovered along with a TVS Jupiter scooter valued at Rs 1.05 lakh and a Honda Activa 4G scooter priced at Rs 50,000. Household articles, as listed by the bureau, amount to a valuation of Rs 33.48 lakh.

Precious metal ornaments were also seized. Gold items weighing about 360.97 grams and silver items totaling 331.58 grams were found, together valued at Rs 9.39 lakh. In addition, cash amounting to Rs 15,600 was taken from Rao’s residence.

Benami rice mill under investigation

The ACB indicated that a rice mill, suspected of being held in a benami (nominee) name, is part of the ongoing probe. The agency is presently verifying the mill’s ownership structure and the source of the investment that financed its acquisition. The bureau emphasized that further verification is underway to establish the nature of the transactions, the sources of funds used for the purchases and the ultimate ownership of all identified assets. It added that additional assets may emerge as the investigation proceeds.

Rao’s case adds to a series of recent anti‑corruption actions in Telangana, where the bureau has intensified scrutiny of public officials accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income. The agency’s statements underscore that the market value of the properties uncovered is likely to exceed the documented values, a factor that could influence any future legal or disciplinary outcomes.

While the investigation remains in its early stages, the ACB has pledged to continue its verification process, examine the legitimacy of the transactions, and determine whether the assets were acquired through corrupt practices. The outcome of the probe will depend on the bureau’s ability to substantiate the link between Rao’s official position and the acquisition of the identified wealth.

The Anti‑Corruption Bureau in Telangana has seized immovable and movable assets valued at roughly Rs 9.41 crore during searches on a civil supplies department official.

[299
2006,2810,2811,1362,1358
post-2562","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-anti-corruption","tag-civil-supplies","tag-disproportionate-assets","tag-investigation","tag-telangana","entry
["GET
