The actor, who was leaving a football practice session, escaped without any reported gunshot wounds, although two people – including his driver – sustained injuries.

Details of the attack

According to police statements, Shroff was travelling in a car that was moving slowly past a crowd after departing a football ground. Video footage captured at least two men firing multiple rounds at close range toward the front passenger seat of the vehicle. The shots struck the car, but none hit Shroff directly. The driver and a third passenger were injured in the barrage.

The incident occurred as Shroff, who also plays professional football for Mumbai FC, was exiting a regular practice session in October 2024. The football ground is located in Juhu, a coastal suburb that houses many entertainment industry figures. After the attack, Shroff was seen shirtless with bandages on his upper body in a photograph taken with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Official response and investigation

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff on Sunday evening and described the actor as “shaken” by the episode. Shinde pledged that attempts to intimidate individuals would not be tolerated and promised an end to what he termed “hooliganism.” Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis called the incident “serious and condemnable,” assuring Shroff that the government would guarantee his “complete safety.” Fadnavis also indicated that the police would make arrests “very soon.”

Police investigations quickly led to the detention of three suspects in Rajasthan on Monday. Two of the detainees are reported to be from the northern Indian states of Haryana and Bihar and have been residing in Mumbai for several years. The third suspect is identified as a minor. Maharashtra police said the three individuals would be handed over to Mumbai Police later in the day.

While the police have not publicly identified the mastermind behind the attack, media reports have highlighted an audio clip in which a man claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang asserts responsibility. Authorities have not verified the authenticity of the recording, and no official link to the gang has been confirmed.

Industry reaction and security concerns

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), a major union representing film‑industry workers, condemned the shooting in a formal statement. The union alleged that organized criminal groups are deliberately targeting members of the film fraternity to create an “atmosphere of fear” and to extort money. AICWA criticized both the government and law‑enforcement agencies for failing to prevent such attacks, calling for stricter action against the perpetrators and improved security for actors, technicians, and their families.

The association also drew parallels with the 1990s, a period when criminal gangs wielded substantial influence in Mumbai and the film industry operated under the “shadow of fear.” The recent attack, according to AICWA, underscores that the city has yet to fully eradicate the menace of organized crime.

Recent years have seen several high‑profile incidents involving actors and political figures in Mumbai. The article notes that “several actors and political figures in Mumbai have been targeted by gunmen in recent years,” suggesting a pattern of violence that has unsettled the entertainment community.

In addition to the Shroff case, the article references the 2024 murder of influential politician Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in a bustling Mumbai neighbourhood. Media reports linked that killing to individuals associated with the Bishnoi gang, further reviving public attention on the gang’s activities.

Shroff, the son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, entered Bollywood with the 2014 film “Heropanti” and has since built a reputation for action roles, dancing, and martial‑arts performances. His involvement in professional football, highlighted by his debut for Mumbai FC in October 2024, illustrates his dual career in sports and cinema.

While the investigation proceeds, police have not disclosed any motive behind the attack. The detainment of suspects in Rajasthan suggests a possible interstate element to the case, but authorities have not confirmed any connections to organized crime syndicates. The minor suspect’s identity and role remain undisclosed.

The incident has sparked renewed debate about security protocols for high‑profile individuals in Mumbai. Industry bodies are urging the state government to allocate additional resources for protection, while law‑enforcement agencies face pressure to demonstrate swift and decisive action against any criminal networks operating in the city.

As of the latest statements, Tiger Shroff remains in stable condition, with officials emphasizing that he has been “shaken” but not physically harmed by gunfire. The ongoing investigation and the recent arrests are expected to provide further clarity on the perpetrators and any broader criminal affiliations involved.

Actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after gunmen opened fire on his car in Mumbai’s Juhu suburb, prompting a police investigation and industry outcry over rising violence.

[299
3070,3068,3069,3067,3066
post-2774","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-aicwa","tag-bollywood-safety","tag-indian-police","tag-mumbai-shooting","tag-tiger-shroff","entry
["GET
