The new Rs 20 coin was introduced in the year 2020, in March, and at that time, the Government had informed that it will be under circulation by May 2020. But due to the pandemic situation and continuous lockdowns during those months even during the last year, the circulation was delayed and later was postponed. It is being said and people are expecting Rs 20 coins to come into circulation very soon.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Is the coin the same as the image that was leaked on the internet?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During all these delays and postponement, the new Rs 20 coin images got leaked on a website called Reddit which is a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">social news website and forum where content is socially curated and promoted by site members through voting. The registered users of Reddit are called Redditors and one of the Redditors released the images of Rs 20 coin which got viral within no time and all the websites are explaining about the same in their websites. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When a new coin or a note is going to be released, there is a different kind of excitement getting to see in people. The reason for this is not quite clear to anyone. But Rs 20 coin has impressed most of the people who came through its viral image and its features are as follows:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What does the new Rs 20 coin look like? What are the shape and sizes? How is it prepared?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is in the shape of a 12 edged polygon or dodecagon and is being claimed that weighs around 8.54 grams with a 27 millimeter as its diameter. The coin has been made using materials like Zinc, Nickel, and Copper making the coin more durable under extreme conditions in comparison to other denomination coins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>What is the font used on the coin?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The front side of the coin is embarked with an initial twenty in Devagiri and English fonts with a picture of grains and water depicting the <strong>\u2018agricultural strength of our nation\u2019<\/strong>. The backside of the coin is much more beautiful with an embossed\u00a0 <strong>\u2018Ashoka Pillar\u2019<\/strong> over it with imprints of India and Bharat on the right and left periphery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Why was the Rs 20 coin launch postponed? When was it planned initially?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the Corona pandemic breakout in the entire nation during the last year, the release of the coin was further postponed which was supposed to happen in May 2020. But as per many sources, it is being claimed that it is going to be released soon in the public domain and will come into circulation very soon. Till now, after the release of the Rs 20 coin, INR 20 coin will be the highest denomination in the Indian coin category. Looking into current markets, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rs 20 coin makes up for almost one-third of a dollar value.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>When the Rs 20 coin will be launched? Can it be used for circulation?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The launch date of the Rs 20 coin has not yet been decided but it is being expected to be launched very soon. Till then Rs 20 notes can be used for making transactions as RBI has said that Rs 20 notes will still be a legal tender.
