US President Donald Trump has picked a new apparent best friend, says \u2018I love Pakistan\u2019 in his official press meet.<\/p>\n

Looks like the recently concluded G7 Summit<\/a> held in Canada on June 16-17 has created some new dynamics and equation, with US President going on record officially and stating that it was his intervention which led to the supposed ceasefire between India and Pakistan as part of Operation Sindoor. First the Saudis, now Pakistan\u2019s generals\u2014who is Trump really working for? This has become a mystery question, with US President Trump<\/a> inviting Pak Army Chief Asim Munir to White House and hosting him for a lunch meeting. He also praised Munir\u2019s role in preventing escalation of the conflict between India and Pakistan and expressed his appreciation for taking a rather smart decision of ending the war.<\/p>\n

The lunch meeting was the first time a US President<\/a> had hosted the powerful head of Pakistan\u2019s Army at the White House unaccompanied by senior Pakistan civilian officials. It also came amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran<\/a>, with Trump exploring Washington\u2019s involvement. The US President also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who he spoke to over a long 30-minute telephonic conversation. PM Modi post his telecon made his stance absolutely clear that the ceasefire following the May 7-10 military standoff was achieved through direct communication between the Indian militaries \u2013 not through any external mediation.<\/p>\n

Shortly thereafter, Donald Trump said that he “loves Pakistan<\/em>“, but was quick to balance it by saying he also thought “Modi is fantastic<\/em>” too.<\/p>\n
