The move follows a newly announced partnership with <strong>OpenAI<\/strong>, which allows customers to <strong>browse and buy items using Walmart\u2019s Instant Checkout directly within ChatGPT\u2019s conversational interface.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1186\">According to a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/newsraise.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/17\/walmart-to-cut-multiple-store-support-roles-simplify-structure-for-future\/\">Walmart<\/a> sales presentation referenced by <em data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"723\">The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, the company tested a new ad format called &#8216;<strong>Sponsored Prompt<\/strong>&#8216; from September to early November with select brands.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1186\">When users tapped these prompts, Sparky delivered an AI-generated response paired with a clickable shopping ad.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1186\">Walmart launched Sparky in June 2025 as part of a major upgrade to its mobile app, positioning the AI assistant to summarize customer reviews, compare products and offer tailored shopping suggestions in a ChatGPT-like conversational layout.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1186\">The OpenAI collaboration extends <em>Walmart\u2019s customer reach by allowing shoppers to describe their needs conversationally in ChatGPT<\/em> and complete purchases using Walmart\u2019s checkout system.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"1186\">Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said the company is building a &#8216;native AI experience&#8217; that is personalized, multimedia-rich and contextual\u2014an experience powered by Sparky and strengthened through the new integration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1587\" data-end=\"1952\"><a href=\"https:\/\/newsraise.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/17\/walmart-to-cut-multiple-store-support-roles-simplify-structure-for-future\/\">Walmart\u2019s AI adoption<\/a> is not limited to customer-facing tools. Electronic shelf labels now automate price changes instantly and feature guiding lights to help workers locate specific products.
