Minecraft players can now explore new Sulfur caves in the Overworld, a significant addition in the game’s latest update, which also introduces a unique mob called the Sulfur Cube and adds new musical compositions.<\/p>\n
The new update, dubbed ‘Chaos Cubed,’ brings players to vibrant Sulfur springs found across the Overworld. These springs, characterized by bubbling pools and noxious gas, conceal hidden Sulfur caves below. Within these caves, players will encounter new block sets, including Cinnabar and Sulfur, which can be used for building and crafting. The caves also feature Sulfur spikes that, while harmless to step on, can fall and cause damage.<\/p>\n
A central feature of the update is the Sulfur Cube, a new mob residing in the Sulfur caves. This creature has a peculiar appetite for blocks, and its behavior changes based on what players feed it. By experimenting with different blocks, players can influence the Sulfur Cube to bounce, slide, or exhibit other unpredictable actions. The mob can be transported using a bucket, making it easier to bring back to a player’s base.<\/p>\n
The update also introduces Potent Sulfur blocks, which cause the bubbling effect in Sulfur springs and can be used to create hot pools when placed under water. These formations can generate bubble columns and release noxious gas that can inflict nausea on players and nearby mobs. Geysers are another new environmental hazard\/utility, forming when a Magma block is placed beneath a submerged Potent Sulfur block, offering vertical boosts.<\/p>\n
Composer fingerspit (Paula Ruiz) has contributed new music to the game. A new music disc, featuring the song “Bounce,” can be found in Minecarts with Chests within abandoned mineshafts located in Sulfur Caves. Additionally, several new music tracks\u2014Ebb, Home, Memories, Nightly, and Shores\u2014have been added to the main menu, creative mode, and various biomes, including Mesa, Bamboo Jungle, Cherry Grove, Desert, Dripstone Caves, Flower Forest, Forest, Frozen Peaks, Grove, Jagged Peaks, Jungle, Lush Caves, Meadow, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, Old Growth Pine Taiga, Snowy Slopes, Sparse Jungle, Snowy Peaks, Swamp, and Sulfur Caves.<\/p>\n
The update includes a range of bug fixes and accessibility improvements. A Panorama Scroll Speed slider has been added to Video settings to control the rotation speed of the main menu background. The ‘Hide Sky Flashes’ setting now also suppresses lightning sky flashes in the Overworld, aligning with Java Edition behavior. Text-to-speech functionality has been improved to read the ‘&’ character as ‘and’.<\/p>\n
Several gameplay bugs have been addressed, including issues with item duplication in The End, entities being affected by liquids at the edge of blocks, bees not pollinating certain flowers, and Strider loot not being affected by the Looting Enchantment. Fixes were also made for experience orb spawning positions, bee behavior, dimension loading performance, and vehicle rotation. The warning text regarding achievements when using Add-ons has been removed.<\/p>\n
Graphical enhancements and fixes include texture streaming being enabled by default on supported platforms (PC and mobile), improved rendering of streamed textures, and corrections for issues related to dithered objects, item clipping, and snow golem head rendering in various graphics modes.
