Dodge has partnered with Hemmings and Suppy\u2019s Garage to turn its new SIXPACK\u2011powered Charger platform into two purpose\u2011built drift machines. The result is a two\u2011door Charger BOOST Coupe and a four\u2011door Charger Rapid People Mover (RPM), each delivering an estimated 750 horsepower and featuring a manual transmission \u2013 the first of their kind for the SIXPACK\u2011powered Charger line.<\/p>\n
Both cars begin life as 2026 Dodge Charger Scat Packs, which come from the factory with a high\u2011output twin\u2011turbo 3.0\u2011liter HURRICANE inline\u2011six that makes 550 hp and 531 lb\u2011ft of torque and is paired with all\u2011wheel drive. To reach the 750\u2011hp target, the BOOST Coupe abandons the twin\u2011turbo setup in favor of a single\u2011turbo system supplied by Turbosmart, along with custom intake and exhaust components tuned for competition. The RPM retains a twin\u2011turbo arrangement but incorporates heavily modified Turbosmart hardware, bespoke intercoolers, reservoirs, and dedicated fluid routing. Both machines run on C16 race fuel and are controlled by MoTeC engine\u2011management units with integrated 12\u2011inch digital displays.<\/p>\n
Perhaps the most notable change is the conversion from the standard automatic transmission and AWD layout to a manual, rear\u2011wheel\u2011drive drivetrain. Custom bellhousings, modified drivelines, competition\u2011spec manual gearboxes, heavy\u2011duty driveshafts, and Bulldog quick\u2011change rear differentials were engineered for each car. Inside, drivers find three pedals, a stick shift, and a one\u2011off hydraulic handbrake \u2013 a complete departure from the stock Scat Pack configuration.<\/p>\n
Beyond powertrain work, both Chargers received professional drift suspension systems, extreme steering geometry for maximum angle, rear\u2011mounted cooling packages, custom fuel cells, upgraded hydraulic brakes, full roll cages, containment racing seats, multi\u2011point harnesses, and other competition safety equipment. Bodywork was also extensively altered: widened front and rear fenders, custom rear drift wings, unique taillight assemblies, and hoods with vented exhaust outlets. The RPM features a dual\u2011mode exhaust that can vent smoke through hood\u2011mounted outlets, adding a visual flourish to its drift\u2011taxi concept.<\/p>\n
The BOOST Coupe is positioned as the more aggressive of the pair, built for maximum performance and professional drifting. The RPM, by contrast, is designed as a high\u2011powered \u201cdrift taxi,\u201d intended to carry passengers during demonstration runs. Both cars sport American Racing competition wheels wrapped in X\u2011Comp HP tires and graphics inspired by Dodge\u2019s new Purple Haze paint, with the RPM displaying \u201cRapid People Mover\u201d across its roof.<\/p>\n
The project, conceived during a media drive through Death Valley by Dodge CEO Matt McAlear and Hemmings Director of Programming Mike Musto, was completed in just 60 days. Professional drifters Corey \u201cThe Boss\u201d Hosford and Micah Diaz will debut the vehicles at Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge on August\u202f7, with a nine\u2011part Hemmings video series documenting the build from concept to completion.<\/p>\n
Following the press reveal, the BOOST Coupe and RPM are slated to appear at Gridlife at Laguna\u202fSeca (Sept.\u202f18\u201120) and later at FuelFest in Arizona (Dec.\u202f5).
