Stephen Williams Shot Dead During Standoff"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alabama: A veteran police officer of Moody, Alabama, on Tuesday night was killed in a shooting at a motel. According to local reports, Sgt. Stephen Williams, 23-year-old, was pronounced dead following a shooting at a Super 8 motel. Sergeant reported to the scene alone, unfortunately before other agencies arrival at the scene, the officer was shot multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>A man and a woman have been taken into custody post this incident as prime suspects, however, the situation that led to the shooting is yet unknown as per reports. The Netizens has taken up to Twitter on such grievances, and the retweet continues.<\/p>\n<p>Moody Police Chief Thomas Hunt reportedly said that Sgt. Williams was with the department for the past three years and worked as a night shift sergeant.\u00a0 Williams was a 23 year old veteran in law enforcement and had a wife and three children.<\/p>\n<p><center><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">RIP \ud83d\udc94 Moody Police Sgt. He was awesome. Just a good man. A good person. Funny to be around\u2026He had been a sergeant with us\u2026worked night shift for us. Very thorough in his paperwork, very thorough as a sergeant. He was a good teacher and a good mentor, and a lot of guys looked up to Stephen. He was a very good close friend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Chief also added by saying, \u201cI ask everyone for prayer for the Williams family and the Moody Police Department. As more information becomes available, we will be able to release more at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Northern District of Alabama U.S Attorney, Jay Town, released a statement upon this tragedy, &#8220;Moody Police Sergeant Stephen Williams\u2019 end of watch has come much too soon. Our condolences and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow officers. His loss is a loss for all of Alabama.
