The Detectives\u2019 Endowment Association, the labor union for active and retired New York City detectives, tweeted an urgent safety message at 10:45 p.m. Monday, reporting on the poisonings earlier in the evening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cTonight, three of our fellow officers were intentionally poisoned by one or more workers at the Shake Shack at 200 Broadway in Manhattan,\u201d the union wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8URGENT SAFETY MESSAGE\ud83d\udea8<br \/>Tonight, three of our fellow officers were intentionally poisoned by one or more workers at the Shake Shack at 200 Broadway in Manhattan. Please see the safety alert\u2935\ufe0f <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/D8Lywivhdu\">https:\/\/t.co\/D8Lywivhdu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Detectives&#39; Endowment Association (@NYCPDDEA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NYCPDDEA\/status\/1272721892131188743?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 16, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All three officers were hospitalised though the union said they \u201cwere not seriously harmed.\u201d The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York also issued a statement saying that a, \u201cToxic substance believed to be bleach had been placed in their beverages.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The PBA said the officer had been \u201con protest detail.\u201d The group advised all members, to carefully inspect any prepared food item they purchase while on duty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When New York City police officers cannot even take meal without coming under attack, it is clear that [the] environment in which we work has deteriorated to a critical level. \u201cWe cannot afford to let our guard down for even a moment,\u201d the PBA advised in bold-face type.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BREAKING?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BREAKING<\/a> When NYC police officers cannot even take meal without coming under attack, it is clear that environment in which we work has deteriorated to a critical level.
