AI Gone Wrong: Trump posts Video showing Barack Obama arrested by FBI

The world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has spared no entity, with industries and companies vying for eliminating competition and maximizing their output through AI intervention as much as possible. This wave of information technology advancement has knocked on the doors of White House too, and by the looks of it, President Donald Trump has come under its influence too.

An AI generated video has now gone viral on social media and all over the internet that showcases former POTUS Barack Obama arrested by FBI officials. The video, posted by Trump on Truth Social, starts with Obama saying that “especially the President is above the law“.

US President Donald Trump on Monday posted an AI-generated video showing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arresting former President Barack Obama in the White House. Several American politicians, including former president Joe Biden, then appear in the fake video saying, “no one is above the law”. The video then switches to show Trump and Obama in the Oval Office, before the latter is arrested by the FBI. The video ends with Barack Obama, wearing an orange costume, in a jail cell.

The development comes days after US Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, said that the Obama administration should be tried over claims of Russian influence in Trump’s US Presidential win in 2016. Gabbard in her statement opined that almost 100 plus pages of heavily redacted emails have revealed that former President Barack Obama’s national security Cabinet “faked and manipulated intelligence” behind the assessment that Russia wanted Trump to win the election.

“Their goal was to usurp President Trump and subvert the will of the American people. No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The integrity of our democratic republic depends on it.” Gabbard wrote on her official X account and sparked a major controversy too.

As one would expect, Gabbard’s move was welcomed by Trump and even congratulated her on this bold discovery made by her, demystifying the earlier alleged claims made during Obama’s tenure. Donald Trump’s video led to a flurry of reactions on social media, with many users questioning whether Obama could be arrested in the coming days.

While the intent to carry out a fair investigation must be certainly welcomed and appreciated, as no individual must have false accusations spewed on himself, but the involvement of AI to develop a video that mocks former president and circulates a fake narrative, also throws light on the deep involvement of artificial intelligence and its application in spreading delusional and inaccurate information can leave citizens at the mercy of unwanted attention and scrutiny. One must exercise caution in dealing with technological tools and strive to maintain authenticity to promote safe use.
