Devil May Cry 5 on Switch 2: Brighter, Smoother Than PS4

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the action game Devil May Cry 5 has been compared to its PlayStation 4 counterpart, revealing visual and performance differences. According to a video comparison, the Switch 2 version offers a slightly brighter visual presentation.

Performance Comparison

In terms of performance, the Nintendo Switch 2 appears to maintain a mostly locked 60 frames per second (FPS). This contrasts with the PS4 version, which experienced frame rate dips, particularly in cutscenes where it could drop into the 30s and 40s.

Further analysis indicates that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Devil May Cry 5 has the capability to reach up to 120 FPS. To enable this higher frame rate, players need to navigate to the system settings, access the display tab, and enable “120 Hz Output.” When this setting is active, the game will attempt to achieve 120 FPS where possible. A compatible TV is required for this feature to function when the console is docked.

Beyond the potential for 120 FPS, the game generally shows frame rates well above 60 FPS across the board on the Nintendo Switch 2.
