Vivo – the technology brand that curates user-friendly products based on a high design-driven value, with smart devices and intelligent services as its core organized the third edition of Vivo Ignite 2025, a concept which brings together young minds of school-going students to come together, and present ideas powered through innovation to bring about an impact in the futuristic society.
Just how the brand aims to build a bridge between humans and the digital world, the theme of these projects also underlies the efficient use of technology and digitization to ease human intervention and create smart solutions to problems and gaps perceived by young minds in the modern-day society.
The latest season saw some of the brightest minds come together for the Grand Finale held in New Delhi earlier this month, to put forth unique solutions for real-world challenges. The concept of ‘Vivo Ignite’, launched by Vivo as a part of its flagship CSR program, aims to foster a culture of searching for path-breaking ideas among India’s youth. This year, Vivo Ignite received over a staggering 37,000 registrations from 9000+ educational institutions across 660 districts, marking a two-fold increment from the previous edition.
In totality, over 5600 ‘Tech for Good’ project ideas were submitted by students from Grades 8 to 12 across the nation. After a rigorous and intense three-stage careful evaluation process, that commenced with regional shortlisting of Top 200 ideas, followed by model elements made under the guidance if expert mentors and academicians, the last leg of this long journey culminated with a stunning Grand Finale event. The finalists hailed from diverse regions of India – Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Pondicherry, Odisha and West Bengal.

19 finalists were chosen for the penultimate round, representing a rich diversity of thought, creativity and purpose. These exceptional young minds exemplified a unique blend of technology, creativity and intent, offering practical solutions to some of the most pressing societal challenges.
The preliminary intent of organizing the Vivo Ignite events annually is to nurture problem-solving and analytical thinking amongst India’s youth and provide access to mentorship, resources, and a structured platform to turn their ideas into impactful, tech-driven solutions.
The Top 10 projects selected this year showcased the application of technology-driven solutions that ranged from climate action to inclusive healthcare and rural access. Each idea reflected a deep understanding of community needs and growing strategic relevance of youth-led innovative concepts to amplify India’s development journey. Some of the top-rated projects that stood out were:
1) AI-Guru Box: Offline AI Voice System to Assist Rural Communities: This peculiar project involves an AI (Artificial Intelligence) powered rural information hub that bridges the knowledge divide by delivering real time access to healthcare, legal rights, and government schemes, fostering inclusive and sustainable community development.
2) Arduino Based LPG Gas Leakage Detection and Prevention System: An automated safety mechanism that enables quick response to accidental LPG leaks, prioritizing prevention and disaster control. An easy-to-install system offering enhanced protection for nearby individuals by significantly reducing leak risks, despite challenges like cost, and network coverage in some areas.
3) AI Powered Criminal Activity Detection: Through Sensor Less Sensing: A cost-effective & large-scale crime detection system using Wi-Fi sensing technology. It offers non-intrusive surveillance capable of distinguishing between normal and suspicious human activities, making it suitable for enhancing security across public spaces, homes, and organizations.
