Cleartrip Launches India’s Biggest Travel Sale During Big Billion Days 2026

Cleartrip, the online travel platform owned by Flipkart, unveiled a large‑scale travel promotion tied to the Big Billion Days (BBD) 2026 sales event. The initiative, described as “India’s Biggest Travel Sale,” runs from October 8 to October 18 and covers a broad spectrum of travel products, including domestic and international flights, hotel rooms, bus and train tickets, as well as curated holiday packages.

Manjari Singhal, Cleartrip’s Chief Growth and Business Officer, said the festival is aimed at removing typical barriers that prevent people from traveling during the festive season. “Every festive season, millions of Indians feel the urge to go home to visit friends and family, to finally take that trip and celebrate somewhere new. At Cleartrip, we believe no trip should be postponed simply because the timing didn’t feel right or the price didn’t add up,” Singhal explained.

Daily deal windows structure the discount schedule

Cleartrip organized the sale into distinct time‑bound windows, each featuring a specific mix of price cuts and promotional formats. Starting at noon on October 8, the “Price Drop” window offered domestic flight fares as low as ₹1,499 and international fares from ₹5,999, both with limited inventory. Hotel rooms received a flat 40 % discount, buses were discounted 15 %, and train tickets could be reduced by up to ₹150. The same slot also introduced visa‑free travel for partners to Vietnam and Bali.

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., the “Tick Tock Deals” window emphasized percentage‑off offers and buy‑one‑get‑one promotions. Four‑star hotels were discounted a minimum of 44 %, bus tickets featured a 1‑for‑1 offer between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., and a similar train BOGO deal ran from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. A free bus pass worth ₹250 was also available during the 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. slot.

The evening “Flash Sale” from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. introduced family‑focused incentives. Children could travel free on domestic bookings that included two or more tickets, while international family bookings of three or more passengers received a flat 20 % discount. A BOGO hotel offer (stay two nights, pay for one) applied to premium brands such as Lemon Tree, Royal Orchid, Fern, Ginger and GRT, with a minimum 20 % discount. Bus and train discounts continued, and partners enjoyed a 50 % reduction.

Late‑night “Last Minute Deals” (10 p.m. to midnight) targeted upscale accommodations and premium ground transport. Luxury hotels were offered at least 10 % off, Volvo bus fares could be reduced by up to ₹400, and Vande Bharat train tickets received a similar ₹400 discount.

The initial “Rush Hour” period, covering the first two hours of the sale (12 noon to 2 a.m.), replicated the lowest‑price flight fares of ₹1,499 for domestic routes and ₹5,999 for international routes, alongside a minimum 40 % off on hotels, 20 % off on buses and up to ₹180 off on train tickets. A special 50 % partner discount was available only on October 8.

Bank partnerships add further savings

Cleartrip partnered with two major Indian banks to layer additional discounts on top of the time‑bound offers. HDFC Bank provided a flat 10 % discount on domestic flights up to ₹1,800 for full‑swipe transactions and up to ₹2,000 for EMI purchases, with a minimum order value (MOV) of ₹10,000. International flights received a 10 % discount up to ₹6,000 (full swipe) or ₹7,000 (EMI) with an MOV of ₹15,000. Hotel bookings through HDFC enjoyed a 20 % discount up to ₹5,000 for domestic stays and a 15 % discount up to ₹5,000 for international stays, each with the same MOV thresholds. Bus and train tickets also qualified for a flat 10 % discount, capped at ₹500 and ₹100 respectively, subject to a ₹500 MOV.

ICICI Bank offered EMI‑specific discounts. Domestic flights could be reduced by a flat 12 % up to ₹2,000 with a ₹5,000 MOV, while international flights received a 10 % discount up to ₹7,000 with a ₹15,000 MOV. Hotel discounts mirrored HDFC’s structure, with a 20 % reduction up to ₹6,000 for domestic stays and a 15 % reduction up to ₹6,000 for international stays, each requiring a ₹5,000 MOV.

Featured offers and elite loyalty benefits round out the promotion

Beyond the scheduled windows, Cleartrip highlighted a series of featured offers. Flash fares on flights started at ₹1,499 for domestic routes such as Goa‑Pune and Calicut‑Bengaluru, while international fares began at ₹5,999 for routes like Mumbai‑Muscat and could go up to ₹19,999 for longer journeys such as Delhi‑Paris. Premium hotel options were also showcased, with 5‑star stays starting at ₹2,499, beachfront properties from ₹2,999, hill‑station retreats from ₹1,999, wellness getaways from ₹2,999 and romantic hideaways from ₹2,499.

Family‑centric incentives continued with child‑free travel on domestic bookings of two or more tickets, a flat 20 % discount on international family bookings of three or more passengers, and group‑booking savings of up to ₹500 on buses and trains, 15 % off on buses, ₹150 off on trains, and up to 45 % off on holiday packages. Partner travel also received special treatment, with a 50 % discount on destinations such as Thailand, Bali, Kerala and Andaman, and visa‑free entry for partners traveling to Vietnam and Bali.

Cleartrip’s elite loyalty program added value for repeat customers. Flight changes could be made for a nominal ₹1 fee, while loyalty members received a minimum 20 % discount on hotels and at least ₹5,000 off on holiday packages. Flipkart Black members enjoyed additional perks, including flight cancellation or rescheduling for ₹1, a further 10 % off top‑tier hotels, and accelerated SuperCoins earnings—up to 100 SuperCoins for standard members and a 3 % boost for Flipkart Black members, capped at 100 SuperCoins.

Founded in July 2006, Cleartrip has grown into one of India’s fastest‑expanding online travel technology firms. Flipkart acquired a majority stake in April 2021, and a recent study by VIDEC positioned Cleartrip as the second‑largest online travel agency (OTA) in the country. The company emphasizes an end‑to‑end travel solution, combining a wide selection of flights, hotels, trains, buses and holiday packages with competitive pricing and premium content. The Big Billion Days travel festival reflects Cleartrip’s strategy to differentiate itself through innovative, value‑driven offers that encourage more Indians to travel during the festive period.

Cleartrip invited media inquiries through its dedicated contact points, underscoring the promotional nature of the announcement and noting that the press release was supplied by VMPL, with ANI stating it bears no responsibility for the content.
