Four arrested in alleged gun transport linked to Tiger Shroff shooting

On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the Delhi Police Special Cell detained four individuals – two men and two women – for their purported involvement in moving a firearm to Mumbai before the October 18 shooting that targeted Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle. Police allege the suspects acted on instructions from a man identified as Anil Pandit, who coordinated the operation through an encrypted messaging app.

Arrests and alleged roles

The four accused have been named as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, both residents of Sonipat in Haryana, and Radha, 23, from Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh, along with Babita, 23, from Azamgarh district, Uttar Pradesh. According to a statement released by the Special Cell, Kunal had recently secured bail before being re‑arrested. He was introduced to Pandit by a friend from Harsana village, after which the two began communicating via the encrypted platform.

Investigators say Kunal travelled to Amritsar on Pandit’s direction to collect a pistol and twenty rounds of ammunition, with Sumit accompanying him on that trip. The police further allege that Kunal met Radha roughly two months earlier, developed a personal relationship, and disclosed the details of his activities, eventually persuading her to accompany the weapon to Mumbai.

Timeline of the alleged transport

On October 15, Kunal is said to have escorted Radha and Babita to New Delhi Railway Station. From there, the two women boarded a train bound for Mumbai, with the pistol allegedly concealed inside Radha’s bag. Throughout the journey, Kunal maintained contact with Pandit via the encrypted messaging service, relaying further instructions to the women.

The pair arrived in Dadar, Mumbai, on October 17 and checked into a hotel. The Special Cell’s statement claims that a minor boy collected the bag containing the firearm from Radha near the hotel at around 11 a.m. that day. The following evening, at approximately 7 p.m., shots were fired at Tiger Shroff’s car, an incident that sparked a high‑profile investigation.

After the shooting, police allege Pandit contacted Kunal to inform him that the shooters were stranded in Mumbai and instructed Kunal to arrange an escape route for them. The two women, Radha and Babita, reportedly left Mumbai on the Dadar‑Haridwar Express on October 18.

Legal proceedings and custody

The Special Cell reported that the two women were apprehended at New Delhi Railway Station on October 20, while Kunal and Sumit were arrested in Sonipat. All four were presented before a court under Section 35(1)(b) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Subsequently, officials from Maharashtra Police’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Mumbai filed an application seeking permission to interrogate the suspects while in custody and to formally arrest them in connection with the firing case.

The court granted the CID’s request, leading to the formal arrest of all four individuals by the Maharashtra Police team. A further application was approved, allowing a three‑day transit remand so investigators could transport the accused to Mumbai for additional questioning.

The arrests highlight a suspected cross‑state operation involving the procurement and movement of a firearm from Haryana to Maharashtra. However, the Special Cell’s statement does not confirm whether the pistol recovered from the suspects has been definitively linked to the shots fired at Tiger Shroff’s car, nor does it establish whether the alleged plan to facilitate the shooters’ escape was successful.

Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of the alleged conspiracy, the identity of the actual shooters, and any additional individuals who may have been involved in planning or executing the attack. The case remains under active scrutiny by both Delhi and Maharashtra law‑enforcement agencies.
