Jio Platforms is slated to disclose its financial results for the quarter ending September 30 on October 30. Market watchers anticipate a modest increase in profit, while the company’s shares have already surged more than 4% since the stock market debut.
Listing debut and share price movement
The company made its first appearance on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday, pricing its shares at a premium of over 21% following a record‑breaking subscription to its initial public offering. The listing elevated Jio Platforms to the position of India’s second‑largest firm by market capitalisation, trailing only Reliance Industries.
In early trade on Thursday, the stock extended its gains, climbing roughly 4.7% to Rs 1,484, an increase of Rs 66.50 per share. At one point during the session, the price touched Rs 1,478.90 before settling higher.
Projected Q2 financial performance
ET Now’s estimates suggest that revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 will rise 2.6% quarter‑on‑quarter, reaching Rs 35,100 crore compared with Rs 34,200 crore recorded in the preceding quarter. The forecast for earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) points to a 2.7% increase, moving to Rs 19,200 crore from Rs 18,700 crore, while the EBITDA margin is expected to stay steady at 54.7%.
Profit after tax (PAT) is projected at Rs 7,400 crore, marking a 3.2% rise from the Rs 7,170 crore posted in Q1 FY27. Analysts attribute the anticipated revenue growth to a combination of net subscriber additions, higher average revenue per user (ARPU), expansion of home broadband services, and the inclusion of an additional calendar day in the quarter.
ARPU is forecast to climb 1.1% quarter‑on‑quarter to Rs 218, up from Rs 215.6 in the prior quarter. Historical ARPU figures show a gradual rise over recent quarters: Rs 214 in Q4 FY26, Rs 213.7 in Q3 FY26, Rs 211.4 in Q2 FY26 and Rs 208.8 in Q1 FY26.
Net subscriber additions are estimated between 8 million and 10 million for the quarter, with wireless additions accounting for roughly 7.3 million of that total.
Dividend outlook and growth expectations
The possibility of a dividend announcement remains uncertain. Jio Platforms’ Red Herring Prospectus notes that the company has not paid any dividend in the past three years and provides no guarantee of future payouts. The prospectus further states that any decision on dividend—whether interim or final—will be at the board’s discretion and will depend on a range of internal and external factors.
Brokerage houses anticipate that the next phase of growth will be fueled by telecom tariff hikes, continued ARPU improvement, subscriber gains, broadband rollout and increasing adoption of artificial intelligence, cloud and other digital services. Motilal Oswal projects a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14% for revenue between FY26 and FY29, alongside improving profitability and stronger free‑cash‑flow generation.
Investors will be closely monitoring the upcoming results for clues on profitability trends and any potential dividend declaration, while the stock’s recent momentum suggests continued market interest in the company’s post‑listing performance.
