Samsung India has broadened its commercial air‑conditioning lineup with the introduction of the Infinite One‑Way Cassette AC. Marketed as a premium cooling solution, the new cassette‑type unit combines artificial‑intelligence‑driven climate management, ambient edge lighting and SmartThings‑enabled smart connectivity for both residential and commercial environments.
Ambient lighting and design
One of the headline features of the Infinite One‑Way Cassette AC is Samsung’s Ambient Edge Lighting system. The technology transforms the ceiling‑mounted air‑conditioner into a visual design element, offering nine lighting modes that draw inspiration from the human circadian rhythm. Users can select Warm, Natural or Cool lighting tones, each available in high‑ and low‑intensity settings. An additional Smart Lighting Intensity mode automatically modulates brightness in response to the surrounding environment, allowing the unit to adapt its ambience throughout the day.
According to Samsung, the lighting suite is intended to complement modern interior aesthetics while delivering functional illumination. The company positions the product for consumers and businesses that seek a blend of thermal comfort, visual design and intelligent technology.
WindFree cooling and AI integration
The cassette AC incorporates Samsung’s upgraded Wide WindFree™ technology. The system employs roughly 17,200 micro‑holes across the unit’s panel to distribute air evenly, creating a draft‑free cooling experience. Samsung claims that the wider panel design reduces the sensation of cold air blasts, lowers operating noise and improves overall energy efficiency.
Artificial‑intelligence capabilities are embedded in the form of an AI Comfort Mode, which learns user preferences and adjusts cooling parameters accordingly. Built‑in Wi‑Fi enables SmartThings connectivity, allowing owners to manage temperature settings remotely via smartphones. SmartThings integration also brings voice‑control compatibility, energy‑use monitoring, personalised cooling recommendations, usage analytics, a welcome‑cooling function and a pet‑care mode.
To address indoor air quality, the unit is equipped with an Intertek‑certified Copper Anti‑Bacterial Filter. Samsung states that the filter can reduce certain harmful bacteria by up to 99 % while capturing airborne particles. The external casing is constructed from Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA), a material that offers enhanced resistance to ultraviolet exposure and is designed to retain its appearance over prolonged use. The cassette’s slim profile—measuring 13.8 cm in depth—makes it suitable for premium interior installations where space is at a premium.
Pricing, configurations and market positioning
The Infinite One‑Way Cassette AC series will be sold nationwide through Samsung’s commercial‑AC channel partners. The product line is offered in two configurations: Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) and Commercial Split (CAC). The VRF range is available in four capacity options—2.8 kW, 3.6 kW, 5.6 kW and 7.1 kW—while the CAC lineup includes three variants of 3.5 kW, 5.2 kW and 7.1 kW.
Pricing for the new series starts at Rs 1.6 lakh, inclusive of GST. Samsung targets the unit at premium residential projects, office spaces, hospitality venues and other architecturally designed environments where both performance and aesthetic integration are valued.
Vipin Agrawal, Head of SAC Business at Samsung India, commented on the launch, saying, “As consumer expectations evolve, modern spaces are looking beyond conventional cooling. They expect climate solutions that combine thermal comfort, intelligent technology and design.”
The launch reflects Samsung’s broader strategy to embed smart functionality into its home‑appliance portfolio, leveraging its ecosystem of IoT devices and the SmartThings platform. By pairing AI‑driven climate control with ambient lighting, Samsung aims to differentiate the Infinite One‑Way Cassette AC in a competitive market that increasingly values integrated, design‑forward solutions.
Industry observers note that the combination of Wide WindFree™ technology, AI comfort features and a premium aesthetic could appeal to developers of high‑end residential towers and boutique hotels seeking to offer differentiated guest experiences. The inclusion of a copper anti‑bacterial filter also aligns with heightened post‑pandemic awareness of indoor air quality.
Samsung has not disclosed projected sales volumes or specific rollout timelines beyond the statement that the product is available across India through its established commercial distribution network. The company’s emphasis on smart connectivity and design suggests that future updates may further integrate the cassette AC with other SmartThings‑enabled devices, potentially expanding its role within connected home and building ecosystems.
