Ubisoft Adds Valhalla New Game Plus, Hexe Update 2027, No Remakes

Ubisoft delivered a comprehensive fall briefing on the Assassin’s Creed franchise, highlighting a long‑awaited New Game Plus mode for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, outlining the timeline for the next single‑player title codenamed Hexe, and confirming that no further remakes are currently in production.

Valhalla receives New Game Plus

The upcoming update, scheduled for release on November 5, will let players restart a fresh playthrough of Valhalla while retaining gear, runes and mastery progress from earlier runs. Ubisoft described the mode as an “optional progression” where equipment, runes and masteries collectively determine Eivor’s power level.

Additional content arriving with the patch includes new runes, fresh achievements, a stash system and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. A new resource called Mithril will enable upgrades to Divine Gear and strengthen runes, while all Divine Gear items will receive quality ratings.

The feature follows the recent introduction of New Game Plus to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, indicating Ubisoft’s broader push to extend replay value across its live‑service titles.

Future single‑player titles and remakes

Ubisoft confirmed that the next major single‑player entry, codenamed Hexe, will receive its next significant update in 2027. First revealed in 2022, Hexe is set during the 17th‑century Holy Roman Empire, with the period’s witch‑hunt persecutions expected to play a central narrative role.

Regarding remakes, the studio clarified that after the launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced earlier this year, no other remake projects are actively being developed. Ubisoft emphasized transparency, stating that development teams are concentrating on upcoming, undisclosed titles featuring new settings and stories. Nonetheless, the company left the possibility open, noting a continued interest in revisiting classic entries and that opportunities to bring older games back will still be explored.

Other franchise updates

Multiplayer‑focused Codename Invictis remains in development. Ubisoft said player feedback highlighted a desire for stronger representation of core Assassin’s Creed pillars, prompting months of rework to align the game with those expectations while preserving its multiplayer ambitions.

On the media front, Ubisoft revealed that the live‑action Assassin’s Creed series being produced for Netflix is nearing completion in Rome. Award‑winning composer Hannah Peel, known for work on Insomnia, Rogue Agent and Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, is scoring the series.

Finally, Ubisoft hinted at extensive celebrations slated for 2027, marking the franchise’s 20th anniversary. While details remain under wraps, the company described plans for a “year of reveals, updates, rewards, and community moments.”
