State Bank of India issues maintenance alert to its customers

State Bank of India or widely known as SBI  is one of the oldest commercial banks in India being the largest bank in India and also a public sector bank in India. State Bank of India (SBI) is the largest commercial bank in India. State Bank of India (SBI) has a total of more than 22,000 branches, 57,889 ATMs functioning across the country. As per a recent report of the bank on 31st December 2021, customers of State Bank of India (SBI)’s Internet banking are around 8.5 crore and mobile banking customers are 1.9 crores. At the end of December 2020, the total number of users of UPI or Unified Payments Interface was around 13.5 crores. Recently, the State Bank of India (SBI) has started its State Bank of India (SBI) YONO which has a total of 3.5 crore registered users.

The internet banking facility of State Bank of India (SBI) offers many products and services to cater to all its customers’ demands online such as Transfer funds to own and third party accounts, A suite of completely online deposit products (Fixed, Recurring, Flexi, Tax Saving, etc.), Airline, Rail, Bus and hotel ticket booking, Online Shopping and instant recharge features, IMPS Funds Transfer, Western Union Service, Credit beneficiary accounts using RTGS/NEFT feature, Generate account statements, E- tax for online tax payments, etc.

The list of facilities, products, and services offered by the State Bank of India (SBI) goes long. When it is offering such a large range of services, then it will of course need regular maintenance. Hence State Bank of India (SBI) has issued an alert to its crores of customers that a few of its services will not be available with the bank. 

What is the new alert issued by the State Bank of India to its customers? What should customers be vary of?

The State Bank of India has issued an alert to its customers regarding the maintenance work to happen during the time interval of 2 days in a specified time period, that is, on the night of May 21- 22 and May 23rd, Sunday. The bank’s services will remain closed for some time as stated by the bank. The State Bank of India (SBI) has chosen to carry on their maintenance work during night time to reduce the total number of customers affected due to the maintenance work since a large number of customers operate through the bank’s net banking as there is the serious pandemic situation in the country and lockdowns imposed in most of the States compelling the customers to operate through net banking itself.

The State Bank of India (SBI) informed about the maintenance work that is going to happen through its Twitter account by stating clearly the day, date, and time. In its tweet, it stated that the maintenance activities are to happen from 22:45 on May 21 to May 22 at 01:15 and also on May 23 from 02.40 hrs to 06.10 hrs.  

Will online facilities be functional?

And during this time interval, services of State Bank of India (SBI) of net banking, YONO, YONA Lite and its UPI services will not be functional. The State Bank of India (SBI) had undergone maintenance work for its digital banking platform even during the last month as the bank maintains its digital platform regularly so as to lessen the risks and difficulties faced by the customers. Hence it is requested by the customers to cooperate in this matter with the bank and either prepone or postpone those transactions which you had planned to make.
