But among these people, there were many who were mentally disturbed due to the pandemic situation due to workload or study load or any other reason leading to many people facing depression and anxiety issues. There are several reasons for it. But the main reason is people not knowing how to manage time all day sitting at home since the present pandemic situation is the first time for all of us. So here we are with an article on ways to manage your depression and anxiety issues during COVID-19.

  1. Create a personal routine: we all have been listening to this for years but very few would have tried creating a personal routine in their lives practically. People do tend to procrastinate and overthink. However, now it’s the right time for everyone to have an effective routine in their life utilizing in the best possible way. Make time for spending time with your family, friends, and close ones. This is the best time one can ever get to spend with their family trying out new things because if not this pandemic time, people wouldn’t have spent this time with their family rather be busy with their work life.
  2. Give yourself a good night’s sleep: Normally, people with depression and anxiety issues face sleeping issues. Even though he/she is used to sleeping early in the night, various scenarios are created in their head. Usually, they are unable to get even a good night’s sleep due to overthinking and thinking unnecessary things about any topic. So, such people need to focus on their breathing while trying to sleep, relax their mind and body, keep their phones away 2 hours before sleeping, and do not think about anything while sleeping.
  3. Practice meditation: In Indian methods, there are two solutions for every problem. One is keeping the phone aside and the other is meditation. Meditation always has a positive impact especially on people with depression and anxiety issues. Fix a time in a day and a place in your house for meditation and try to achieve a peaceful state of mind by relaxing your mind and making yourself calm.
  4. Seek social support: in the present situation, one needs to seek people’s support not by meeting them personally but by talking over phones or having a video call online. Seeking social support helps people to get over depression and anxiety. Try to share your thoughts with people who understand you because it’s better to say out what’s going on in your mind rather than keeping it inside yourself and suffering.
  5. Be productive with your free time: this is the best time where people are getting free time to explore and try out new things sitting at home. Never ever feel that you are isolated at home and can do nothing. Always be positive and try to do those things which you never did or you always wanted to do. Make time for your hobbies, try cooking whether men or women are not an issue, try out doing yoga, watching online, spend time gardening or you can do your household chores like washing dishes, cleaning the floor, arranging your things properly, etc.. try playing indoor games with family or try out new series.

Hence lastly would like to conclude by saying make good use of this time developing your skills and personality. Try out new things, spend time with your close ones and stay home and stay safe.
