Apple Watch Reportedly Saves Woman from Sexual Assault

Every time Apple launches a newer series of the Apple Watch, the company manages to include some more health and security features. However, a comparatively older feature from the smartwatch has now saved a woman from sexual assault. According to the report, she would have been subjected to the assault if not for the timely help offered by Apple Watch, which assisted the woman in contacting the law enforcement and emergency services. Apparently, the Apple Watch feature that allows users to make emergency calls was a real helper in the scenario and the woman would always be thankful for that.

“Greenwood told provincial court Judge Margaret Keelaghan that the woman awoke to see a shadowy figure in her suite. She reached for her nearby iPhone, but it was no longer where she left it when she dozed off, the prosecutor said. (She) remembered that she was wearing an Apple watch on the arm draped over her head. She used the watch to text message her boyfriend,” Greenwood said. She asked him if he had come home, but he said he hadn’t,”” reads a news section from the Calgary Herald. It needs to be noted that the woman did not know the intentions of the intruder first and then realized.

For the record, this is not the first time when the Apple Watch is being helpful in a real-world scenarios. As we said, the Watch now has a number of sensors that detect unusual happenings such as steep falls and other slipping. Once a fall has been detected, the Watch would contact 911 and that’s what happened in the case of a couple who fell from a cliff. In almost all cases, including the above one, the law enforcement or the emergency services were able to save the victims from further trouble, ensuring on-time support.
