Rouhani says Iran has found an oil field with approximated 53 billion barrels of crude. An extensive oil field restraining an approximate 53 billion barrels of crude oil has been found in Iran, President Hassan Rouhani declared a discovery that could enhance the country’s damaged economy amidst rigorous US sanctions.

The oil field in Southwest Iran extends over an area of 2,400 sq. km in the Khuzestan province and is approximately 80 meters deep as per the Iranian leader. It would be the nation’s second-biggest oil field beyond one in Ahvaz accommodating an approximated 65 billion barrels.

Rouhani said that they have found a contemporary large field with 53 billion barrels of supply. He appended that this is a compact offering by the government of Iran to its public. Iran which is an establishing member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) presently has approximated demonstrated crude oil supplies of 155.6 billion barrels as per energy goliath BP. The contemporary findings would append around 34% of its aggregate reserves.

The US Energy Administration Information (EAI) aligns Iran as the globe’s fourth-biggest bearer of oil reserves and the second-biggest bearer of gas reserves. If the dimensions of contemporary oil reserves are demonstrated to be precise it would uplift the country in the third position, just below its regional enemy Saudi Arabia.

Last month Iran declared the finding of a natural gas reserve that could generate $40 billion in revenue. Rouhani said this most recent finding could enhance the country’s reserves by around a third.
